I recently bought a colt xse government and 4 mags. I had to mail order ammo since there is none available in my area to by. So I think I will just shoot 22cal.(I have ammo)

have a Colt XSE stainless in 45 ACP. This gun had night sites on it that went dead, and I have swapped the rear out for a Novak. The front site is still the dead night sight. It is in excellent condition, and has mostly been sitting in a safe over the years. I don't shoot much any more, so am trying to thin things out. $650. Located in South Georgia. PM if interested.

Some of you might remember I asked about where to purchase a current manufacture Colt as in my neck of the woods if I can even find a Colt it's a Government 1911A1 type...nothing wrong with that but not what I was looking for...I was leaning more towards the XSE, rail gun (not so much) or Combat Elite types... I'm a Southpaw and need an ambi-safety but as long as it has nice sights, I'm ...

Clean the set screw and threads good and dial in the rear sight and loctite into place.Its a no brainer. I read about it on here before picking up my XSE GM and the sight set screw is still holding. Not one single issue so far. I used the blue loctite so I could remove it if needed.

The new XSE seem to be great pistols, however, I sure wish Colt had left off the front cocking serrations. It really isn't enough to keep me from buying one, but I'd like it a whole lot better without them.

Newbie question of sorts: I would like to purchase custom stocks for the new ss xse 5" when I get it... I believe the wood is called 'black silverwood' or something.... It's a black kind of wood... I've seen them posted on the web but no one has answered the question... and I'd love to have the silver colt medallion embedded in them. Any suggestions on where to get these stocks?

xd40seg That could have an effect on your feeding issues. Make sure the firing pin hole and counter bore are clean and free of burrs and corrosion. Is the pin bent? Those firing pin counter bores are a rust trap, especially when the application of lube is discouraged.

Bill: My early model SS CC XSE had its front sight depart from the slide while I was shooting it. That sight was the stake into the slide type. I think I only had shot a couple hundred rounds thru it when that happened. Colt sent me a replacement and I got it installed after I enlarged the bevel area in which the sight is staked. spoke to the dealer and he said anytime that leather is fitted in the factory in France this means that it will come with all those additional extras. the only time that they wouldnt is if the dealer has leather fitted in Australia. sounded credible enough to me, so looks like the paperwork will be pushed through in the next couple of days. . let the delivery countdown begin
