While I do not know what the fees are (but could probably find out) there are two clubs I would recommend. One is a USRC club located just east of Hartford, it is the Rottweiler Club of Connecticut. There is also a Schutzhund USA club named OutKast schutzhund club filled with lots of members who are very successful. Both have a super group of people, and experienced trainers/helpers with ...

I don't even know if there is a point to this thread..but it is just something that irked me yesterday. I was talking to a few people about "pit bull attacks"-you know, all the bias surrounding that pits are vicious and stuff. The people I was talking to agreed that pits are unfairly targeted...then almost all of them started talking about "Oh I've known so many dalmatians that ...

Hi all! We just adopted our baby dog last week and I have a question. She seems to be crate trained. I'm sort of shocked that she'll already get into her crate when we tell her. But, I'm not sure if we're working the right way on house training her. The reason being, she seems to think that when she comes inside, it's time to do her business. Sigh... I let her out of the crate in the morning...

Ali is two years old and very, very sweet. But, when walking her on her leash, she wants to play with everybody including larger dogs. She does not like small chihuahua type dogs and tries to go after them. She is currently in obedience training. We are trying to find a way to walk a 60lb dog w/o losing control of her. I know that the discussion of prongg collars is not permitted, but I will say...

Coco & Dozer have their own crates. Coco doesn't need to be crated anymore when we are gone. Obviously Dozer does because he is still a baby and working on house training as well as getting used to his crate. When I leave and put Dozer away, Coco still goes in her crate and lays down but I don't close her door. Yesterday my DH mentioned that he wondered if it is more stressful on Dozer ...

Bella will be 11 months old in three days. No one has ever taken her anywhere except me, I always walk her, take her to play dates, training, the vet, etc. DH and the sons take her out in the garden to pookie or to play, but other than that, she doesn't leave our property unless she is with me (or me and DH, we took her for a doggie ice cream one night). Anyway, I was working today ...

Hi Everyone, Well I came about your forum whilst hunting for some doggy training tips and just had to sign up! I'm a new dog owner to the lovely Max and we're really keen to learn loads of stuff. Max is a rescue dog from our local Animals in Distress Centre. He is 6 years old and is a New Zealand Sheep Dog. He had been in the rescue centre twice. First of all for growling at a child, he ...

Thought this was something: Hospice therapy dogs offer comfort and joy :: Herald News :: Lifestyles Maria Keene knew her dog Buddy would do well as a therapy dog. His personality fit the bill, and his size was just right for patients who used wheelchairs or could not leave their beds. But, at the same time, it was Keene's first visit as a volunteer through Seasons Hospice, and she...

Hi there, everybody, My name is Kathy and I am a new owner of a Pit Bull, although I have met many as a volunteer at a dog rescue. Harley Quinn is a 4 month old female that I say adopted us rather than vice versa. My partner, Ben, and I were in a park that was having a dog rescue fair. I had seen her picture online, but having 2 dogs already, we were really not looking to adopt. I spotted ...

We adopted Dolly from a rescue in April. As sad as it sounds, this dog has been a problem from the get go. But, as we're stubborn and determined to keep her, we've put up with everything from messing in the house to eating birthday gifts, to tearing appart the house while we're gone. Recently, it started to put a strain on my boyfriend and I's relationship. We were constantly fighting ...

I'm posting to gague interest regarding this dog which my sister must rehome. Please PM me or post if you are interested, or know someone who is. We are in southeastern CT and would be willing to help with transportation but we would prefer her to stay semi-local. The woman we got the pups from still has first refusal, but she has 5+ dogs of her own, and I was hoping someone on here would ...
