Coco & Dozer have their own crates. Coco doesn't need to be crated anymore when we are gone. Obviously Dozer does because he is still a baby and working on house training as well as getting used to his crate. When I leave and put Dozer away, Coco still goes in her crate and lays down but I don't close her door. Yesterday my DH mentioned that he wondered if it is more stressful on Dozer ...

First I'll give a little background. I got Sammi in my senior year of college, when I lived in a house with 7 other people. It made things easy, as someone was always around to watch her and to take her out. After I graduated in May I moved back in with my parents for the summer. They have a black lab mix, and although they have an interesting relationship, they generally get ...

I am new to this site so I apologize if this is redundant. I adopted a 1 year old female pitt mix this weekend named Ashes. Ashes is a very sweet dog and is eager to please me and my husband. She is getting plenty of exercise (an hour walk in the morning and evening with a weighted back-pack) but I am so unsure as what to do with her during the day. My husband and I both work full time jobs ...

We adopted Dolly from a rescue in April. As sad as it sounds, this dog has been a problem from the get go. But, as we're stubborn and determined to keep her, we've put up with everything from messing in the house to eating birthday gifts, to tearing appart the house while we're gone. Recently, it started to put a strain on my boyfriend and I's relationship. We were constantly fighting ...

I'm posting to gague interest regarding this dog which my sister must rehome. Please PM me or post if you are interested, or know someone who is. We are in southeastern CT and would be willing to help with transportation but we would prefer her to stay semi-local. The woman we got the pups from still has first refusal, but she has 5+ dogs of her own, and I was hoping someone on here would ...

Hi all! We just adopted our baby dog last week and I have a question. She seems to be crate trained. I'm sort of shocked that she'll already get into her crate when we tell her. But, I'm not sure if we're working the right way on house training her. The reason being, she seems to think that when she comes inside, it's time to do her business. Sigh... I let her out of the crate in the morning...

I just rescued Moose today. He was originally from an abusive home that shocked him with a collar until he got sores on his neck and under fed him. Then the people who took him treated him better but still weren't caring for him properly. He was with them for 2 weeks and they said he suddenly stopped eating when they went back to work after the summer. He was also stinky and matted. So today ...

I got my dog Sunny one month ago when he was 8 weeks old. He's a Golden Retriever, now 3 months old, and I love him SO much. He's my first dog, so I'm learning as I go along, although I read lots of training techniques to prepare for bringing him home! We decided that crate training would be the most effective method for house-training. He also sleeps in there at night. He was doing really good, ...
