Adobe CS3 After Effects / Photoshop / Premiere Pro / Soundbooth Cinelerra have most of premiere/after effects feature. Other apps, like cinepaint can complete the task. But for basic DV editing kino is easier. About photoshop, I don't like the gimp, but it can do the job. Krita 2.0 is also good, but is in beta. About sound program, there is some (rosegarser, lmms, wired, hydrogen) and ...

Hello all. I am on the lookout for a new monitor as my 3 year old has scratched the heck out of the screen of my current one with a screwdriver  . I have found one with a hard glass screen which I am attracted to for the obvious reasons, but I have no idea about specs etc, and this would be my first wide-screen monitor. I use my PC for office apps and games, such as CoD4, ...

I'm not sure what's causing this, but I've had to restore my active partition (C twice using Acronis True Image after ChkDsk destroyed it. Short version: Windows XP tells me "The file or directory C:\$Secure is corrupt or unreadable. Please run ChkDsk utility." When I do, Windows tells me to restart so ChkDsk can do its thing. I oblige just to watch ChkDsk obliterate my hard drive. The ...
