Hello. I'm having trouble on deciding which one is better. They seem to be the same to me, but I've read about some drivers that work in Vista not working in Windows 7. For my needs, a 64-bit OS isn't really...

I bought a "Windows Vista SP1 Upgrade Disk" from walmart and it was on accident. I thought it was a full version but turned out to be upgrade. How can I install this Upgrade disk on my computer if I do not already have a existing operating system? 1 person needs an answer I do too

http://blogs.technet.com/srd/archive...windows-7.a spx Increases security, but may be incompatible with some apps. I ran the fixit to enable SEHOP for all processes, so far, IE, firefox, mpchc, emule, counter-strike:source, all work, nothing failed. A nice bit of 'free' security.

My boss's laptop (a Fujitsu Lifebook S Series) was rarely being used. So, after god-knows how many months sitting at the corner of his room, he thought of updating it. It runs on Windows Vista Basic. While updating Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (which took him hours) to a point where I have no idea which stage he reached, the screen went blank. He tried to restart the computer, but a black screen...

This makes the third thread for this same issue and has yet to be resolved. Software Readiness Tool has been used (with postive results) and no anti-virus software is running. What solution (other than re-installing Vista) can anyone recommend?
