Hello, Does this Windows Server 2003 file server a part of domain? What is the domain controller? Do the File server and the Windows XP client belongs to a same domain? If they belong to different domains, this error message could be due to the network firewall filters Kerberos traffic settings. You may check this KB article: You receive a "The system has detected ...

The workstation is using Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 and the server is WindowsServer2008 Standard. The workstation has been added to the network in Active Directory. I've even tried disconnecting/deleting...

Look into Windows Network Load Balancing. It is free of charge - this would be good for a web server for example. Look into Windows Clustering - for the MS SQL servers. Windows Clustering is free and you can create a high availability active/passive (or other options) failover cluster. You need a minimum of Windows Server Enterprise and MS SQL Standard to create a 2 node cluster. SQL Server ...

It all depend on how skilled you are in server management whether it is Windows or Linux, both need regular updates, hardening and security audits. An unmanaged provider still will handle any thing related to hardware and network issues. And for managed provider every one have their own definition of managed, so you should ask them what their "managed" means. To learn managing your ...

I've got a windows 2003 server acting as a domain controller(one of 4 dcs at the site). Whenever this server is rebooted it loses network connectivity. The server is configured with 2 NICs however the 2nd one is disabled. When you log onto the server the 1st NIC is configured properly, but there's no 2 way traffic. However if I enable and disable ...

Hi compuman1, Thanks for the reply. Although, it is a bit disheartening to hear that you had similar issues and MS was unable to solve it. I am indeed also on an SBS 2003 domain enviroment. I think I will migrate the company to an all 2008 domain enviroment next year. The SBS 2003 domain enviroment has given us so much issues the last 4 years. For now I think i will just re-install the 2008 ...

Hi NewBie09, Your consideration about the idle time required before suspending a session could be possible. You may increase the amount of the idle time to check if the client will encounter the disconnected issue again. One another possibility is authentication problem if you have Windows Server 2008 domain controller in the system environment. ...
