This is the HE model with no agitator. If you have this machine, can you tell me if it's possible to manually ADD water to the load if you want? It detects the load and adds water accordingly, but I'd like to be able to add if I feel I need to.

All the people complaining about insufficient water in the Cabrio/Oasis and other such HE toploaders ... are your clothes *really* coming out of the machines still dirty ... or are you *assuming* they're not clean just because of the visual of the low water levels you're seeing? Have any of you thought about simply using the machine for a few weeks without trying to micromanage it, letting it ...

My current 13 year old Maytag washer is working fine but the lid is being eaten away by rust and the rust chips are starting to fall into the washer. I had my mind set on getting a new front load washer like everyone else seems to be buying but after talking to several friends and researching this topic on the internet, the reviews seemed mixed. Some people love the front loaders and some hate ...

The wife wants a traditional top-loader with agitator. We've narrowed it down to two choices: The high-end model Speed Queen TL, and the Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6200S. Speed Queen pros: Legendary reliability. Whirlpool pros: Larger tub (3.9 vs. 3.3). Faster spin (950 RPM vs. 710 RPM, which I figure produces 1.8X the centrifugal force). Warm rinse, which the wife likes. So, do we get a bullet-...

Does anyone have a front loader??? How do you like it. I've heard negs and positives about it and I'm torn. I'm considering the Whirlpool Cabrio. Please let me know if anyone has this one. We just moved and I'm still unpacking....I'm sure it'll take me a couple of months to get it all nicely put away.  But laundry can never wait and we got a brand new washer and dryer that I absolutely love and wanted to recommend.  We got the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and Steam dryer.  This is not a front loader...it's a top-loader with a glass door...it's the one with a huge capacity and no ...

Too bad this is all so confusing for you and others. I'm in the industry, and have tried several pairs of FL and Cabrios over the last four or five years in my home. A couple of quick notes: 1) If vibration is a problem in front load, you can usually select a lower spin speed to reduce the issue. The larger the load, and the larger the machine, the more likely you may be to have issues. 2...

Thank you, suburbanmd and mara. I also heard from a Sears salesman that Kenmore is made by Whirlpool now (and yes, the pie does show Whirlpool's market share to include Kenmores). Apart from Energy Star considerations, it just generally seems that the smell issue has shifted the wave back in favor of TLs. I have read up on both of your decision-making updates and appreciate all I have ...
