Melanoma is very rare. It's good you have an appt. But the odds are on your side. If it does indeed turn out to be melanoma, then since you just noticed it hopefully it's new and hasn't grown to the dangerous stage or maybe it's just atypical and not cancerous at all. Good luck!

No girl, I totally agree. My dad actually passed away from melanoma So I know what to look out for, and I go and get skin checks every 6 monthes Really, I keep the tanning to a minimum, just a few days out of the month to keep from looking like a ghost. Once I get back from vacation I probably won't tan again for awhile. Thanks for looking out for me though dear (I get mother mode too ...

(((Jp))) I know exactly where you're coming from - had the same reaction when I was told I couldn't have my gallstones as the gallbladder was to be sent to pathology... All I could think of was what if they find melanoma in there??? BTW, the gallstones were going to be given to a science teacher who wanted to show them to his anatomy and physiology classes. I might be offline for a few ...
