Are there certain foods one should eat before and after a workout? I am interested in finding out if I should be doing cardio on an empty stomach or not, and if not, what should I be eating and how long before the cardio should I eat it? What about weight-training? Over the summer I fell off the wagon a bit with working out on my off days (mostly because summers in Virginia are fucking hot and miserable). Just joined the site and thought I'd post some pics for feedback. Some background: been training for two years now seriously and keeping a diet log with that as well. The diet more than anything has been the biggest thing that I've seen the fastest gains from. Right now I'm 5'8'' 220, 46''c, 18.5''a, 34''w, 26''a, 16.5'' calves. I found this articule on line and found it interesting. Lower Stomach Fat "Spot training" is a myth. You will not be able to target lower stomach fat (or fat anywhere) with specific exercises. After a 20+ year lay-off I started swimming again in the spring of 2007. I was a decent D-I college swimmer from 1982-1986, and in the interim I got fat, ran marathons, and road cycled, in no particular order.
