Hi, Obonillaf! That was not nonsense at all! One of my favorite things about Hi Fi discussion is learning what others are hearing! It would be cool to have a thread in which people all described their impressions of the same recording - where sounds cam from, what was centered, what was not...you raise a very interesting subject! One of my favorite things about Stereophile's ...

I need to record some audio using FCP's voice-over tool, but getting a microphone hooked up to my iMac has proven insanely difficult. I have an Azden EX-413 electret condenser handheld with a 3.5 mm TRS plug. Unfortunately, macs require line-level input, so I just bought a Behringer UCA202 USB audio interface. (It has RCA jacks, so I also got a female 3.5 mm TRS - male stereo RCA ...

One of my favorite places in the world to sit and read, and just enjoy being outdoors is Mt. Hope Cemetery. For those of you who haven't been to Rochester, NY, it's a municipal cemetery in the 'garden' style, with some absolutely beautiful funerary art: the monuments, the crypts, and even some of the family niches. What I would do, in one of those family nooks, I would replace one of the...

Yikes! I had no idea this would go public! Thanks for the kind words guys and gals. We had a bit of fun recording this stuff. Russ is very patient. I neither spent time recording myself nor playing out the past decade so I feel rather awkward in front of a mic. Especially singing. I've got a voice. Someday I oughta take some lessons and learn how to use it. As for the ...

An interesting read i thought i'd share : June 19, 2002 | In 1997, at the height of the so-called big beat invasion, I walked into a Foot Locker store in Beverly Hills to buy a new pair of shoes. I may have been looking for some Air Max 95s. At some point, house music came thundering over the in-store sound system and strobes began to flash. I dropped whatever sneaker I was holding and ...

Idk how old this is or if it had been posted (yes I searched) but I saw it posted on another forum and decided to post it here. Here's an excerpt from the article.
