I think the essence of the original debate is universal to all instruments, and to all types of art and creativity in general. It's the old "artist vs. technician" thing... To paraphrase a metaphor I've made previously in a few forums, music is very much like cooking. A chef can have the best cookware and utensils and be an expert in using them with extreme flair and dexterity; be a ...

The Nujazz festival was a feel good musical adventure that sheltered Torontonians from the rain and cold. Saturday was especially nasty on the streets - the rain was so thick it looked like snow and harsh wind reminded us that Winter is on it's way. Lucky for the promoters, that didn't prevent hungry music fans to check out the 4 special events. Here's what happened quickly, Thursday - ...

All of the previous posts have been excellent suggestions. We even have a room here on dgrin for book reviews There are books about the technical aspects of photography itself - about cameras, lenses, flashes, lighting etc etc, and then there are books that contain images by great photographers that can be used to educate your eye and to stimulate your visual style. Both types of ...

I figure if Guards are the supreme tank, and Conqs are support angled with buffs and battle rezzes... what do DT's do? I know the whole point from the beginning was to make them some kind of debuffer, but it needs a little work. I got a few ideas on how to improve DT's role in a group. 1. AoE debuffs - big casting circle that stays in place like a trap (and emits a spooky visage) that puts ...

I'm developing a PLC workshop for Aides on Implementing Multiple Intelligences without Interrupting your Teacher's Style . Each group will develop their own list but I need a backup list. I need your help. I welcome input from all age groups, classroom styles, teaching styles, aide types, etc. My starter list is based on my own classroom experiences but I realize it won't fit everyone. ...

Well lots of questions there mate. Firstly IDs as you said can only be used once, if you have a basic layout that uses a header, content area, over and over and it's likely to only be used once throughout any given page then you can use an ID, anything else you should stick to HTML tags (definable and redefinable via the CSS) and/or classes. Ids are defined as #this-is-an-id Classes as ....

To identify a SE TW you will see certain visual traits not to mention the sound differences between these and the regular SE Jazz rides. The SE TW profile has more of a umbrella shape. The top is extensively hammered with several types of hammers. The bottom is more open hammered with larger hand hammering marks with a different style of a traditional type of lathing than the top. The outer 2 1/2...

Here's the WSDL. Per other forums, I moved the partnerLinkType node to the top. This eliminated the Visual Studio intellisense warning, but the call still does not work.

Here is my problem. I am hitting a web service (hosted on a Java based server) that will only accept text encoded Requests, but it returns MTOM Responses. What I've found is that if I set the web service to RequireMtom, it sends an Mtom request! Unfortunately, the server chokes on an Mtom request and returns a 500 error. However, if I set it to Text message encoding, the response comes back ...

I originally posted this in the wrong forum: MSDN Forums » Visual Studio Express Editions » Visual Basic Express Edition and am moving it here now, per suggestion. I am pretty new to .net dev. I am editing an asp.net web application that someone who left the company made for us. I must have done something, because now when I go to compile the app, it says: ------ Build started: ...

GameSpot Score 7.0 good The Good * Flawless runs provide a total rush * Clean and striking visual design * Fantastic sound effects and music. The Bad * Frustrating amount of trial and error * Cramped jumping puzzles trip up the momentum * Combat and gunplay are weak. Like its heroine, Faith, Mirror's Edge tries to hurdle some ...
