Hi All, I am having a problem with WIndows 7 and Vista UAC with my Wise 9.0 .exe installers I hope someone can help. Part of the application we develop launches a specific client update which is a .exe when the user runs the application. The problem I am experiencing is that the update .exe will not launch if UAC is enabled. If I have the task manager open when I launch the ...

I am writing a batch script to switch between settings from the registry. So, the script will export a .REG file to the registry every time I run the batch. I'm trying to make it so that many different people can use it. I have an XP machine, so I can't test this on my computer, so I want to know what sort of behavior a batch accessing regedit would get. Vista under ...

When logged in as administrator with UAC enabled I cannot run any executable that requires elevation. The processes start, do a few mundane looking things (Query Security, Query Name Information, Query Standard Information) and then exit suddenly with STATUS_ELEVATION_REQUIRED. Comparing procmon logs with successfully running the program shows that the sudden exit is the only difference....

Hi, all - I recently upgraded from Trillian 3.1.14 (which was working fine except for some MSN login issues) to Astra 4.0.117. Following the upgrade, I am having a problem that I strongly suspect is Vista-related. After installation (and after figuring out that I had to create a new account), I was finally able to get Astra to try to bring up its main contact list. But it failed, ...

Hi. Thanks for the answers Brad and SMercurio! The ideia was making this transparent for the user. He would not see this confirmation window, and doesn't need to change the Windows Vista registry key. I'll try running LabVIEW as administrator as Brad sugested Thank you both!

I just bought a new wireless printer. It is a lexmark and after contacting them about my problems printing, I was told there was an issue with vista and uac. I can get it to print from wordpad if I right click on wordpad and go to run as administrator...but I can't print pictures. I was told if I disable the uac, my computer could crash. Does microsoft have a fix for this issue? Cathy M
