Was with a client this morning, and I think that I may have been responsible for breaking her windows sidebar gadgets. She likes having the clock & calendar on the sidebar that resides on the desktop in Vista and after I ran www.ccleaner.com both the clock & calendar appeared simply as boxes. Hi folks I have tied to disable the Vista side bar but it keeps reappearing when I restart my PC ,,,, I can exit it until it goes into standby or shut down but it comes back I hate the thing and would like to disable it but the topic is not listed in the help files ,,, anyone know the fix thanks for reading best regards to alll ,, Tony

Years ago I downloaded a program that had post it notes. But I forgot to have them on the desktop all the time. And they cluttered.. I know this is possible but all the tutorials i find on how to do this state that you need to copy the Vista sidebar folder.....i dont have Vista installed now though! We purchased this computer in May of 2009. The operating system is Windows Vista 32 bit. My sidebar was not installed when we purchased the computer. How can I retrieve the software to reinstall the program? Every time I try to log in I get the error "Windows sidebar has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem". 1 person needs an answer I do too

Hey Microsoft, Put the Vista style sidebar back. There are some of us that run high resolution monitors and are smart enough to determine if the sidebar is taking up too much room on our desktop. I came to rely on being able to maximize my VS2008 environment and have quick access to the gadgets.

SP2 has nothing to do with the problem that you are describing. Do you have Logitech Setpoint installed? Logitech's Setpoint utility causes the random order. It is just a coincidence that you are noticing it after SP2. This is NOT a microsoft programming error. Hmmm, 9 repeated replies means we take you seriously? Hi Denise, It sounds to me like some component of that program is still loading. Repeat the instructions I gave for opening the system configuration utility (msconfig) and check the startup tab for anything that loads a component of that software. Alternately, we can run a hijackthis log and try to pick it out.

Wat je zegt, dat klopt. Je moet de .gadget files uitpakken met winrar, dan een map maken in: "C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets" met naamvangadget.gadget en daar de uitgepakte bestanden naar kopieren. Nu zal de gadget selecteerbaar zijn bij de sidebar.

If you have Logitech setpoint installed try removing it...It was the culprit for me. I was using setpoint 480 x64 for my MX-5500 revolution and it caused the same issue. Upon removing setpoint the problem never occured again. -- rseascape .
