Hi, I've had this laptop for 2 years and have never tried a blu-ray disc, i just tried it and it doesn't recognise the disc. I have tried the driver updates from sony and i have downloaded Corel windvdpro2010 (which doesn't even open it usese all of virtual memory). I have windvd intervideo, interactual player, windows media player, click 2 dvd, ulead BD Discrecorder and none of them read the...

A few questions to try to eliminate possibilities: 1. Where did you buy your laptop (country)? 2. Which region settings do you have for DVD and for Blu-ray? (look in hardware, device manager, properties) 3. Does it play DVD's well? And, from which region are those? 4. Does your software support Blu-ray?
