What is the breaking point for stasis? When do you give in and go to the vet? I think I've read a million posts on here about stasis, but when Milo didn't eat this morning, my brain went into panic mode. He won't touch his pellets, which he normally scoffs, but he will eat leaf lettuce. No interest in fresh hay, and his poos were getting smaller and smaller until they've now stopped ...

Packed the crew up this morning and trudged off to Dr Jim's for a 'look see' at everyone and Trev's distemper booster. Wanted everyone to have their teeth looked at, been a long time since anyone had a cleaning.....and get them all on the scales. The big WOO-HOO is that Dreighty's weight is GREAT!! I've switched him to 1/2 Nutro and 1/2 ScienceDiet (I know....yuck, yuck, puick - but it ...

*DISCLAIMER* This post could create a choking hazard. No eating or drinking during the reading of this post. So they take Fizz into the back room to clean his ears and give him a really good check with the scope. So I go back into the front waiting area and was talking to Kristen and Sherri, (night shift vet techs) and in walks a woman with a 4 month old black cockapoo named ...

bad vet visit Today Pann had his last puppy shots at the vet today (he still has to go back for rabies shot next week tho) We got their early I made a point to tell them that I knew I was early and was in no rush because I didn't want to end their lunch break early. They decided to take us in early. They started off well as they always have been, praising Pann and his cute jacket...

first vet visit question My little guy is going to the vet for the first time today (he's about 6 weeks old) and since he hasn't been vaccinated for anything yet should I bring him in a carrier so he doesn't touch the floor or is it ok to bring him in on a leash? Thanks!

I went to the vet for the "first" time last week (never had a dog before). I was surprised when he put his nose right up against Ruger's nose and was talking softly and bonding with him before he even did anything. Of course he may have been doing something else, but it looked good to me. I've taken my girlfriend's dog to the vet numerous times, and we've always been in the room...

Biscuit's recent stasis story We had to get Biscuit to the emergency out of hours vets on Friday night, arghh stasis. She is prone to stasis and has had various degrees of how serious each episode is: As she is a house bunny we normally can normally catch it early and treat her at home. At first signs (not eating, refusing ALL ...

willowchow: Ask your vet what her urine Ph should be for her. Do you know what they base this on? It sounds like there has to be bacteria present to do the C&S so if she is cured this time around we'll have to wait until she gets another infection for it to be done?? He only gave me 6 days worth of anti-biotics. I thought they normally do a week to 10 days.

Now I don't believe that this is the same. This fluids is the serum from the blood. Caused by trauma. The first time the vet drained it it was 30 cc 2 days later he got 15 cc out. So the amount has decreased. As of last night it isn't really that filled. Just a wee bit. Bastian goes back for a recheck on the 16 th of December. Can I skip one month without vet bills???

Just some corrections: it was not the WBC that was high it was the Azurophilic Monocytes. Again the vet believes it to be from the stressful visit. Also the big guy weighs 38.4lbs
