Hi again sauranan, Several thoughts. As we frequently say, the only consistently recommended DL media is Verbatim +R DL (MIS...or made in Singapore). You'll have to look on the spindle label to see where they're made. The Ritek S04-42 are problematic at best. Certainly not consistent in terms of quality and they have horrible firmware support. The failure of your litey LH-20A1S to burn...

In general, here is what I do to ensure quality DVD DL burns. Keep in mind that you need essentially three things, a quality burner, quality media, and a computer setup fast enough to feed data to the burner at a high enough rate. Burners: A lot of budget computers these days come with POS DVD burners. You can tell which drive you have using your burning software to display that info. If...

I have always have had excellent results with my Pioneer DVR-112D with this media. I don't have experience with the Samsung or LG drives with Verbatim DL media, but I used to use older LiteOn models than what you list and I had issues with my players hanging at the layer break about 75% of the time overall, and this even happened on a follow-on newer LiteOn model that I purchaed. It's what ...

This is more of a demonstration of the scanning drives than the burn quality of the Pioneer DVR-215, which as always is excellent. This example shows great consistency between the scans of the LiteOn iHAS 120 and BenQ DW1640, the latter being one of the scanners traditionally. I have recommended the iHAS 120 as a DVD scanner earlier, since it has proved to be pretty reliable at 8x scanning ...

I just got off the phone with Lenovo support after requesting a replacement for my DVD super-multi burner, as I've had a variety of problems with this drive from day one. I have the Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-842 drive, which I purchased particularly for the dual layer burning functionality; after getting the first blue screen I've ever had on this machine, while trying to burn a DL data disc-- with ...

I've gotten a verify error on every movie I've burnt with fab with the 2 latest versions. 5.1.1.5 and 5.1.0.8. I'm using the VSO Burning engine. Verbatim DVD-R and DVD+R DL discs. I was told recently that DVD+R DL DVD-9 DVDs do not play back reliably on all players, especially older consumer DVD players. Is this true? Does this remain true if they are duplicated? Does this remain true if they are replicated? If I supply a Verbatim DVD+R DL DVD Master burnt in DVD SP using a Mac to a replication facility, will they then be able to replicate this DVD...

I've got backups of my collectible Walt Disney Treasure DVD's. My backups are on Verbatim DVD+R DL discs, widely accepted as some of the best DL media (at least a year or so ago when I made them). They're rated at 2.4x but you can burn up to 8x they are so good. Anyway the backups play fine on all my DVD players, but not my PS3. I create the files using DVDFab (or DVD Decrypter) and burn ...
