We are heading to Varadero to celebrate my husbands 40th at the beginning of Feb with a group of 10-15 Adults in the 35-45 range. I'd love any input from people who have been to Varadero for the best resort for overall experience. We are considering the Iberostar Laguna Azul because it is brand new, the Melia Las Americas because of the golf but would love any other suggestions....

We are planning to stay in Varadero in January and I would really like to go to Havana for a day. The only problem is that we have 9 months baby, so bus trip is no go. I was thinking of taking taxi from hotel to Havana. Can anyone tell how much it would cost me. Should I book it thru hotel or go outside the premises and look for any available taxi? We're going to take the bus into Havana for two nights. We were hoping to go buy our tickets at the Varadero bus station a bit early. Does anyone know how early you can buy a ticket and if you can buy your return ticket at the same time? Thanks! K

hello going to the Iberostar varadero in 2 wks n heard that the hotel beach there is quite narrow. Could anyone recommend any wonderful beach nearby and let me know where it is (like walking distance n what direction to go9? thank you :-)

I've heard that one can get excellent dental work done in Cuba for a fraction of the price of home. Has anyone done this and can anyone recommend a good dentist in Varadero or Havana ? Not looking at getting anything major done as I'd definitely just buck up and get that done at home in case of any complications but I'm looking at about $600 for a clean and a few fillings...

I need to know a Varadero hotel 3.5 or 4 star that is GREAT for kids. We have a 3 year old princess, a 4 year old and a 5 year old.....any ideas or recommendations would really help!

We're going to Cuba first week of December but still deciding where... Is Varadero very windy in December? We went to Cuba 8 times but never in Varadero . Santiago has almost no wind but I was told that Varadero is always very windy espacially in December?! Can anyone help us make or decision?

Hello, I am going to Cuba in January, to be exact the Tryp Varadero with my family ( including a 3 year old) I am a bit worried reading some of the reviews, could somebody give me some feedback on the resort please? Thank you
just got home from booking our 2 week stay at OBC. we will be there from Feb 2-16 staying in main building (north end of resort) 2nd time to Varadero , 1st time to OBC! Anyone else going to be there? We are 2 couples from Regina...celebrating 3 Birthdays while we are there... Should be a lot of fun!

Did anyone book the earlly evening flight to Varadero from vancouver on Dec 20th . You had a stop to Santa clara , If anyone has booked this have you been notified of a flight change? The flights seems to be gone now, any info would be great im curious if Air transat combined the 600pm flight with the 915pm flight and is now skipping sanata clara totaly..

Will be going to SLS Jan 2/2010 with a group of 20!!!! A mix of kids ranging in age from 6 all the way up to 17, and 10 adults. We are all pretty excited 1st time in Varadero ,,,would love to get some great tips on the place.
