Did a quick search and couldn't find anything. FAQ on Ross Tech says they don't support it. But I have a vag-com with serial connection and only laptop I have running has no serial connection. But I see there are adaptors available, has anybody been able to use one? Thanks

if you need a serial port for your laptop use a PCMCIA?? card off ebay about $20 bucks shipped. Vag com share ware doesnt work with vista 64bit.

2007 VW MK5 GTI Hey Guys, having a lot of issues with the GTI after my battery died and i got a jump, here is a short briefing thus far. Approx 1 week ago I parked my car at the airport and of course like an idiot I forgot to turn off my lights. This might be a sin on this board and I actually am not sure as the topic isn't really ever spoke of. I borrowed a serial to usb ebay cord for so i can use the 311 vag com software that i downloaded. all i get is 'port status: inaccessable' when i try to test which port i need to use. the friend who i borrowed the cable from, never got it to work either. any idea how to get around this...

The only port in common between my computers seems to be the Ethernet port, or maybe WiFi. Hi, I had problem with unlocking the door. My key did not work at all. I changed new battery and confirmed red LED blink when I press the button. Luckily I found how to enter the car without the wireless lock/unlock function. I took out the blade key in key fob and remove small cap next to the door handle.
