I'm looking to book a long overdue trip out west for the fall of 2009 to hunt mule deer or elk. I've had my fill of Northeast deer hunting and need a real hunting adventure. The list of outfitters on the internet is endless. I'm also looking at what Cabelas has to offer as the do book big game hunting trips through a few select outfitters. Has any one done a similar trip to Colorado, ...

Hello all - I've been hunting for many years and undersand the west very well. I've taken Moose, Bear, Elk, Mule Deer, Mt Goat, Antelope, and other critters. I love to help DIY hunters from out-of-state. I'm on this site to find and kill a good Whitetail, so I'll be reading your post on how to do it, and hope to make some friends along the way. If you have questions about western ...

Mule deer in Utah (there are a few whitetails in the Logan/Ogden area). Vernal would not be my choice for a general season hunt. There are good deer, but they are few and far between. There are some quality limited entry tags in that part of the state but drawing odds are not great till you build some points. Landowner or CWMU tags are available if you want to spend the $. Ive seen some ...

My dad bought a brand new 336A 30-30 in 1949 and from what he has told me, it put food on the table for many years back then. He gave it to me after I shot my first mulie with it when I was 12, 37 years ago. I would love to know how many Mulies fell to this rifle in Utah and Nevada, it sure was a bunch, I could not begin to guess. For the last 20 years I have been hunting with a .54 ...

I have about 15 brand-new Trophy Rock deer salt licks for sale. They are the best salt lick money can buy. Regardless of whether you like to shoot deer with a gun or a camera, these will insure that the deer will come. Buy now, these won't last long in this Utah climate of hunters and outdoorsy people! I am located in Provo. From the Trophy Rock website: We at Trophy Rock are ...

One of the dove hunting clubs around here got a big surprise a few years ago. They were out knocking them down left & right. A few of their 'guests' pulled out their badges & cited a bunch of them for shooting across a road, too close to a road, over limit, shooting them off power lines and some other things too. Talking to an old warden in Utah one year, he told me about his first...

I have just completed a very enjoyable photographic trip to Uah and Northern Arizona to shoot such areas as Cedar Breaks, Bryce Canyon and Zion National park in Utah and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. I'd like to share three accessories which I consider requisite for Mountain West photography. I am not sure whether this should be posted in the accessories forum or in the travel ...
