Hi all I am interested to know if a 1994 VW Citi Golf with a 1300 petrol engine made in South Africa will run on unleaded petrol? I need to know as I am planning on buying this car for my son, and leaded petrol will not be sold for much longer in this country. Please let me know Thanks B1g H@mst3r

I have a 2005 WRX which has been remapped to 283bhp (Scoobyclinic) and have ran it on Shell Optimax ever since. However, my local Shell was out of bounds on Monday and the fuel light came on so I had to put ?10 worth of Jet fuel in and the car ran absolutely fine. Later filled it up with BP Ultimate and the car has been running on that for the past few days. Just ...

Yes shell is 99. I have ran mine on 97 instead of 99 but I do have a KS3 to keep an eye on whats happening. I do carry methanol as well to boost the 97 should I have to use it, only a 5% mix though nothing more if it isn't mapped for it. The mapper said it will be fine on 5% but thats it.

Hi! Can anyone help me with the question of whether it is (or isn't) a good idea to use 99 octane super unleaded in the VW FSI and TSI family of engines? In 2003 and again in 2006 I purchased, new, a VW Polo 1.4FSI. I have used super unleaded exclusively in both cars (Shell Optimax originally; later Shell V-Power), the rationale being that a compression ratio of 12.0:1  would otherwise tend...

Hi guys, I just wondered what the benefits are to using super unleaded as opposed to normal unleaded? It's a lot more expensive, and a higher octane content so I'm thinking its got to improve the performance? Also what about injector cleaner - is that worth sticking in the tan once in a while? Apparently that helps with mpg by flushing out the injectors etc? Anyone use it? Im upgrading ...

I have recently read in a car magazine the VW golf GTI needs to run on super unleaded petrol as recomended by VW, is this the same engine as the one in the Octavia VRS, if so should i be putting unleaded in my VRS LTD.
