I have uninstalled AVG as it kept getting in the way.. I have downloaded and installed Avast Free Home.. I ran a through arcive scan with Advast and it found infectins that were all removed to the Virus chest.. I updated Zone Alarms Firewall and did the clean install option so i could start its block list from the begaining.. I did this as after each reboot i had to shut the program down to get...

Having problems with Java update but probably due to doing things the wrong way round. Deleted Java using add/delete programs before downloading update. No sign of it on attached log!! Hi. . . The Forum Moderator dmex may very well be right on the money with the CPU. I would defer on the hardware end as I always look at software 1st b/c that is my area of interest. I would not even attempt to do that which was suggested - I just don't know my way around hardware. There are no guarantees and plenty of opinions when it comes to BSODs. Hi, You can try viewing the web page in compatibility mode by clicking the 'Compatibility view' button on the address bar when you encounter a page that does not render properly. Please note that Internet Explorer 8 is till in BETA, so certain third party extensions such as Adobe Flash Player might not be compatible yet. Im running Windows XP SP2 Objective: I want to remove all virus and malwares on my system to make the system boot faster. Please Note: To boot faster i have unchecked a few symantec and live update service from the services tab in the msconfig option. I was infected with Antiviruspro 2009 which i think is removed now. Look at all the security programs, most is not needed. AVG is way out of date and a new version is out now, I would uninstall AVG and get AVG8. Spywareguard has not been updated in years and should be uninstalled. XoftSpySE should also be uninstalled. You should run the symantec uninstal program as you have remnenets of that on your PC and will cause slowness and conflicts with AVG. http://...

Hi there, I'm not sure how I got this infection, but randomly about two days about other websites started popping up in my browser (in firefox), one being microsoft live care, click tracker advertising, match sites, etc. I ran AVG in safe mode and it found that my winlogon.exe file is infected with the trojan horse SHeur2.AOX.
