Also, if you are so sure that Sanchez will be an excellent pitcher, why not sign him now for a reasonable long term deal and use the 20 million you want to spend on C.C. for a bat? Doesn't that make a lot more sense? It just seems silly to sign another big contract pitcher in the hopes that you can trade the last big contract pitcher.
