Thanks for the quick fuel math - I do realise it's a small budget, but I think it's achievable. I've already had a couple of leads on borrowing a truck, but they've fallen through due to poor timing, etc - So, I do think that something will show up eventually. I will look further into car registration - Thanks for the tip Other options: Non-mile limited truck rental? Is there such a thing? ...

Welcome to the RTA Forum! Towing is generally forbidden by any rental car contract, so I think this will be a major challenge to find exactly what you are describing. The only real option I can think of would be to rent a Moving Truck from Uhaul or similar company. That would put you on a pretty strict timeline, and would offer only enough miles to cover basically the direct route (not ...

Need to move stuff from 1 bedroom apartment which is now in 10x10 storage Ottawa to Windsor. Uhaul probably would be about $500 one way rental. Any idea what rates I would get with moving companies. I've contacted few in Ottawa but haven't gotten any replies. Should I even waste my time with any moving companies or am I better off renting Uhaul truck. Off course I don't expect moving ...

You can go to the truck rental (Ryder, UHaul) and rent their small truck for $20. I have done that when I couldn't find a friend with a truck, or look in your local paper under movers and give a few a call. Sometimes the sellers will bring it to you for not much. Don't pay $200, look around. Even HD and Lowes rent trucks. You could probably even fit it in a cargo van.

yeah ok, I weaseled out of the deal. Man I knew some of his little cronies would come to defend him, I did not "lowball" him at all. The deal was I was going to his house, to mount the rims and then come away with them. Well about 60 miles from HIS house, in the middle of nowhere with NO one to call, I get a flat that is just straight out unfixable, with the other tire about to go. At this point ...
