Looking for economical shocks to use for the rear, I've found that an '00-'04 F250 has a shock with 12.7" of travel, 18.2" compressed length and 31" extended length... there are several other options in the 10-12" travel range, for the rear of similar trucks. The question is, would the valving be way way too stiff for a rail buggy application? I'm not looking for the ideal shock, just a ...

My truck is used for mostly trail use. I'm running 37" tires with 63" Chevy rear leaf springs 3" SUA lift. The setup with stock shocks works fine most of the time on and off road. Living in Florida it's a minimum 600 mile trip to go hit the rocks or anywhere decent to wheel. The problem arises when i load the back up with tools, fuel and spare parts and am cruising 70 MPH on the interstate. ...

Thanks for the replies. I'm running 5 leaves with std extra length truck shocks application unknown. I guess I'll skip the easy way of bolting on some cheapo air shocks. Probably even with minimal air pressure valving will be lost. I don't know why, but the manufacturers of the cheap air shocks say DO NOT run zero air pressure. It appears like air bags don't have enough travel. They ...

These Bilstein Gas shocks were taken off a 2009 Fleetwood Bounder Motorhome with the Workhorse 22K Chassis. I can not answer any technical qestions about the shocks. I have attached a picture of the shocks and the part numbers and pricing from a Bilstein price list. The shocks have black over spray on them from when Workhorse sprayed the rust protection on the chassis. The run $139.00 each...
