your Kilimanjaro company may be able to help out - they could be in moshi in which case that might be a little difficult post trip. Alternative suggestion is if you stay at a hotel after your trip in Arusha then a few of them offer storage - I've had friends and clients store their gear at the likes of the Arusha Hotel, Ilboru Safari Lodge, L'Oasis lodge and so on. If you really get stuck then ...

My group of 8 just had a very successful trip with Kilitreks & Safaris. They are a less expensive tour operator located in Moshi but provided the same level of support we saw with the more expensive guide companies. They communicated well in advance of our trip, accomodated our special requests and were very attentive throughout our entire climb and subsequent safari. We did the 7 day Machame ...

(1)Price is a question that has consumed so much debate time over the kili issue that certainly, why not a little more? It is still possible to organise a trip for under a 1000 dollars, and at the top end the 2009 prices are starting to creep towards 5000 dollars. As Buddah said, choose the middle road. Therefore look to spend 2500 dollars for a trip. (2)There are many, many companies doing ...

Hello, This is my first post on your website, although the other posts I have read have been v.useful. I am going to Tanzania to carry out a medical elective. I am landing in Kilimanjaro on the 24th of Jan and I am starting my placement on the 2nd of Feb, so need to be back in Moshi on the 1st of Feb. Is it possible to climb kilimanjaro in this time or am i being abit optimistic? I can't extend ...

I've taken up photography as a hobby. I'm just starting out, and I thought it would be helpful for me if I started my own thread and maybe you could give me some constructive criticism on that you think of my photos. Most are of my dogs, they are my life. I'm sure some of you aren't too interested in dogs, so the motives might seem a bit boring. My aim is to see their personalities in the ...

Trav, I'm sorry to hear that your domestic life is gripped by madness and paranoia, but I'm curious to know why you'd expect it to be otherwise. I mean, c'mon, you're well enough to appreciate that both you and your wife are clinically insane. Besides stocking up on snake-venom antidotes, there's really nothing you can do. Life will get easier once you begin to look on that as a benefit of your ...

1. We actually brought 2 Big Agnes bags each: 40degree synth for lower elevations, 15degree down for higher, and both combined for Crater camp. We only ended up using the 40degree bags the first night (and in crater camp as overbags). But if you're not expecting to use the bags much after Kili, I agree with Red6. Just get liners and rent. The few things we rented seemed to be in good condition...

Good advice, greencode. After playing email-tag with World Nomads (getting boilerplate instead of answers), I bought STA Travel's insurance. They did require that the policy include the full round-trip to/from the UK (not just the Kili portion), and getting search/rescue coverage meant getting their top tier. Even so, it was £47 per person for an 18-day policy (Premier Blue, World excl USA) ...
