Help! What do you clean travertine floors & shower walls with rop granite counter tops, and stainless cooktop? New house & all of a sudden I don't know what I am supposed to clean with, not that I ever really did. Thanks from a cleaning challenged woman.

Opinions on Travertine kitchen floors We are currently in the middle of a kitchen remodel and are trying to pick out floors tiles. I really like the look of travertine, but I continously get different reports on durability. Some say it stains easily while others say if it's properly sealed then that shouldn't be an issue. Can ...

Welcome, Damian. That solves your deflection problem. I'd still want a decoupling membrane of some sort over that concrete slab. If the slab is very sound and free of cracks, Ditra would likely be my first choice. If you have existing cracks I'd more likely use one of Noble's sheets installed with their proprietary pookey. If you have any cracks with any vertical ...

travertine and marble are related stones. they are about equal in hardness as well as stainability. marble has long been used for floors, centuries. I prefer marble for various reasons, one is that you have a greater variety with marble but the most important is that travertine is full of holes, so when you are looking at travertine most of the color that you see is actually a filler that is ...

My husband and I are giving serious consideration to using travertine and/or marble as a flooring material in an upcoming remodeling project. Will they both perform equally? How about stain resistance, durability and care? Any feedback on this? Need advise!

Janna, I am partial to DuPont's StoneTech Enhancer Pro. I have used it on my travertine and limestone floors. Little pricey at around $50 a qt. but it goes a long way. Brian
