Two Quick Questions: 1. The above diagram in Post #1 of this thread refers to the pin-out based on facing the male connector mounted on trailer, correct? 2. It does not refer to the female connector on the cable that plugs into the trailer, correct? I'm having trailer electrical issues and just want to start from a known good state.

Correct - there is no relay for the turn signals on the vehicle proper, just for the trailer tow harness (same on XJ, AFAIK.) A friend was asking me could I put lights on his trailer and wire them up. I was looking at wiring diagrams on the internet but I was wondering do we use a 6 or 7 pin connection from the trailer to the car.

I agree: The center on the Bargman 7-pin is used for backup lights on every RV trailer I've owned, and any vehicles I've seen that have come pre-wired. Even though it says "aux" on many diagrams.
