Hey peoples! Well as you all know the gulf coast had a hurricane, but it's downgraded to a tropical storm. It's been raining pretty heavy ALL day. All schools have been closed. Colleges too. We don't go back till thursday. Anywho, tonight taking the girlfriend back home driving on hwy 90 to pensacola (wouldn't take the I-10 bridge, its new because Ivan destroyed the last bridge, and its ...

QUOTE(Millenia-Falcon @ Nov 10 2009, 01:50 AM) Your traction control only controls the throttle. The abs controls the brakes. Newer cars have electronic stability control (ESC) which is kind of a combination of both and then some. Traction control detects if your wheels are spinning faster than your actually going like when you hit water or ice. If they are spinning faster then ...

I am the owner of a 1997 cadillac deville and sometimes when roads are wet, the traction will engage on the car and the 2 lights ABS and Traction Control will come on. Now I want to know if the ABS and Traction Control lights being on is a good thing or a bad thing? Sometimes it will say Traction Engaged with those 2 lights coming on shortly after and other times, only the 2 lights come on.

Normally, the traction light coming on means you're spinning the wheels. The computer then pulses the brakes rapidly on the spinning wheel to control the spinning. (Makes a helluva racket when it does that pulsing, too! First time mine did it, I thought the transmission was going up, since it sounds like gears grinding together.)

Hi all, I have just purchased a Focus ST170. I noticed that the car has standard traction control which you can turn on and off. It also has a 'Brake Traction Control System' which is permantly on. This is not ESP, as that is another option on the car entirely. Well, the traction control light came on for this Brake Traction Control system yesterday when I went over a rather bumpy ...

What year did they start making mustangs with Traction Control Systems? Are they equipped on all models or just the more expensive ones. And how does the Traction Control System compare to Limited Slip Rear Differential? Thanks, John

I've done a lot of searching can't seem to find anything on here in regards to integrating the traction control system from a 99-04 into a fox body. I don't even know if it's been done, or can be done. I'm assuming it can be since the ABS has been integrated into a fox before, and the ABS modules come with or without Traction Control System. If someone has done this or can point me in ...
