i worked at a toyota dealer in the shop, i wouldn't call them a total POS but alot of 05 and up tacomas had alot of warranty work done, the frontier IMO looks better, has a better engine and most importantly has rear disc brakes instead of the drum toyota has, other than that and the high sticker price for a trd tacoma they aint that bad of a truck, but i'll always get a frontier over a tacoma ...

Should be able to pick up an 08 X-Runner pretty reasonably. I saw one on a lot marked down to $21500 and Toyota is offering a $1750 rebate on 08 Tacoma's with V6s. Rear drum brakes though?
