King springs are pretty good. Actually them, pedders and the like are all made by Federal Springs in NZ. Not sure of the part number as such but it will start with KTRS (King, Toyota, Rear, Spring). Dependant on your prime use of the vehicle will be the choice of spring, so if you are not doing a lot of off road a standard height heavy duty spring would be the one of choice. As you'll be pulling ...

If I only knew about this before I bought the FJ, that would have been a deciding factor. Oh well, So far I love this vehicle for what it is. Wonder if it may be related to type of steel used in construction of the body frame. My guess is that some of the steel structure surrounding the area that exhibits the fatuige may be the cause. If the prado frame is exhibiting some movement which is...

QUOTE (ozkahuna @ 1 Nov 2008, 09:14 PM) Hi 'jonesfam' BTW, I have lived in a remote community in far western NSW and did a lot of travelling in that area. I used to drive a HZJ47, Landcruiser ute, diesel, and had one occasion when I hit some 'roos and one put his leg through my radiator. I used my UHF, knowing all the local station call numbers etc..., and got help within an ...

Hi After much deliberation I decided to buy a Terry and have had it a couple of months now. Forums like this one were very useful in helping me decide what to buy. So I thought I'd share my views on the fourby. They may be of interest to others wondering what to buy. I have a MY04 petrol auto. I bought it because on balance, the Terry appears to have the capacity to take my family where...

I for one think the current Prado was one of Toyotas most sucessful designs. It looks tough but at the same time Europian (yeah, I just called a Toyota design Europian). My parents have a silver GXL model, and I think to this day they still look great. The headlights, the tail lights, wheel designs, details like the grille and bumper designs are spot on. It was a fantastic progression of the ...

My old man wants one of those double storey Delica things. But after considering that it is a Bits-Are-Missing , and that a thread on PF indicated that there are a few things that can go wrong with them, I am trying to look at alternatives for him. I always knew about the Toyota Regius / Granvia - which is based on the Hiace SBV sold in Oz. I didn\'t know they were available here as a grey ...

I want to make some rock sliders for my disco and was wondering if any one has any ideas or photos of home made ones. I was thinking about using some 50 X 50 X 2 mm box tubing and tapering them off at the ends. not to shure how I was going to mount to the chassis yet but was thinking some flat plate to go onto the side of the trailing arm mounts. any ideas would be great _________________...
