Brakes on a Toyota Carina '97 2.0l 3SFE My first impression is that the brakes are kind of weak on this car. The brake pedal can travel quite a bit before it gives noticeable resistance. Car is a 1995 Toyota Carina Estate 2.0 litre It's automatic and is a diesel engine. This is my parents car and they don't drive it that much anymore. Maybe 2 or 3 times a week. It was used as a taxi by the previous owner so has a fair few miles on the clock. Can't think of miles offhand but can find out if it becomes relevant to the problem. My local independent charges £35 per hour, and it's not finding things too easy. Mine charges £30, and they're inundated with work. They've just taken on another trainee. They have one Toyota technician (owner), 2 experienced ex-main dealer mechanics, trainee of 3 years, and Newboy. 3 of them can do MOTs (cars and bikes) and the owner has just got a brand new V8 Toyota Landcruiser so ... |
