I'm visiting from the 5-series forum and have one quick question. I'm considering buying an 08 335i that has the Tire Pressure Monitoring system. I live in the mountains of Colorado and for my 2001 540i, I have two sets of wheels. I have the original BMW wheels and I also have snow tires mounted on non-BMW aluminum rims without any tire pressure sensors. My 540 doesn't have any type of Tire ...

I clicked on the Doran TPMS banner ad 'cuz I had no idea what this was. Sort of a nice idea but I'm wondering how useful on a moto if you regularly check your pressure anyways? Think it'd give much of a useful warning for foreign object caused flats?

Hi there, I have an 09 Jetta TDI which I have owned for just over a year with absolutely no problems until last night when a low tire pressure warning appeared, I have had this warning before but simply inflated the front left tire and the warning went away. This time however I could not find the source of the problem, I checked every tire (including the spare) and they are all inflated to just...

I bought an 07 coupe this summer and since the day i bought it, I cannot get the tire pressure monitoring system indicator light to stop blinking. I read the manual and it says that if the light stays on, try adding air to your tires (which ive tried several times) but it just wont turn off. Has anyone had this problem? Im thinking about unplugging my battery which might reset it.. but I have...

Guys, some where in this thread I stated info (or thought I did) and I would like to reiterate it again based on what I am reading: 1. Tire pressure is GREATLY impacted by temperatures. When it's cold, pressure drops; warm it increases...this is a physical fact of air pressure when using Oxygen-based air versus Nitrogen. This is why ALL FOUR TIRES need air when the weather turns cold in those...

There is no doubt that a TPMS is a great accessory (or feature) on your bike or cage. I don't know if I'd go out and buy an after market one, but if the bike came equipped with it I'd sure appreciate it. The only flat I had with a tubeless bike tire took quite a while to get low enough for me to notice (several hundred miles) even then I had plenty if time to get off the highway. Tubeless ...

The TPMS light will come on instantly if the sensors are missing or they aren't programmed to the car. If you're going to be switching back and forth between steelies and your regular wheels I'd just live with the light on while you have your steelies on. I think you can only have your car synced with one set of sensors at a time so you'd have to constantly reprogram your car/sensors every time ...

My understanding of TPMS is as follows: 1. YES, they do come in both hard and soft stem transmitters so because it's rubber does not mean it doesn't have a sensor 2. The transmitters are typically "coded" to the vehicle they are installed in. If you remove a sensor, the computer should give you a fault condition. If the TPMS light is not coming on after having removed one or all sensors, ...

Re: Tire Pressure Monitoring System Correct! The Z's RFA computer is identical to the Coupe's. The only difference is that the software for TPMS is turned off. If you have a friendly local dealer, or know someone with a GM Tech-II scanner, you can enable the functionality with a few key presses. I don't remember the actual key sequence ...

Look in the manual for the car. After a flat, or a wheel change, you have to re-initialize the sensor which is done with the car's computer. It's easy to do...takes less than one-minute and requires no tools except glasses to read the monitor Warren
