Quote: Explain? What exactly has changed to make it biologically alive? A sperm is a living thing, as is an ovum. The zygote is alive! No it's growing into a life. It's not yet homeostatic, it does not consume its own energy, and it does not yet respond to stimuli, it does not yet meet the requirements of life. Arguing against first trimester ...

Jim Hayden wrote: Then why does she refer to sources that lack creditability. When the article starts out stating that the information is inconclusive due to a lack of creditable data and that it is "UNLIKELY" that the baby feels any pain then to have a reputable source totally discredit her source as being biased by their own admissions well makes one wonder just how creditable she ...

Plus Ultra: Supporters of abortion feel bad about the killing part, Killing in itself is not intrinsically a big deal. If I slap myself moderately hard, I kill at least a few cells. That isn't a crime. Its what you kill that determines the moral value of the killing. Killing cancerous tissue is a good thing to do. Killing a person is, usually, a bad thing to do. Slapping ...

....cont. No, I'm not a christian. Hopefully I won't have to type that again as I venture down your post - well, if you can call it a post. Look, I'm sorry for assuming you were, okay? Are we friends now? It's just that all the Christians I've ever debated, have shown me that they're just the dumbest people on Earth. So that's the only reason why I naturally assumed you must be a ...

Unless you are speaking of late-term abortions, I think that is a false argument. Studies have concluded that a fetus does not feel pain until roughly the third trimester, because the brain structures involved in feeling pain do not function until then. What do you define as late-term? I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt and with personal experience that a fetus/child feels pain and ...

None of them support the murder of unborn children. Are you referring to abortions? If so, fetuses are not considered children until the can be viable out side the womb. it's a legal concept not a ...

Jim Hayden wrote: Evidence regarding the capacity for fetal pain is limited but indicates that fetal perception of pain is unlikely before the third trimester. Little or no evidence addresses the effectiveness of direct fetal anesthetic or analgesic techniques. Similarly, limited or no data exist on the safety of such techniques for pregnant women in the context of abortion. Anesthetic ...

THE DRAFTED: "Roe v. Wade only protects first and second trimester abortions. Fetal nerve cells can react to trauma, but pain reception requires a neocortex--which is not formed until early in the third trimester. Fetuses begin to develop a minimal brain stem at 7 weeks, but are not capable of consciousness until the third trimester and most likely remain unconscious until birth. The ...
