I never knew this before but have researched it... a co-worker told me... and appears he is correct. Winter Solstice is the shortest day of daylight at least here in EST...usually Dec 21 plus or minus a day.... but it is not the day when sunset is earliest and when the darkness after work starts to recede. That would be Dec 7th he said... I believe him! I could explain why I believe him and...

research it dear friend, I had no clue... I was pleasantly surprised.... not going to save me from driving home in the dark forever, but isn't it nice to know the tide turns quicker than you thought?
