We are running SQL 2000 SP3 on Windows 2003 SP2. We have a third party application that uses a SQL database. The consultants for the 3rd party app are saying that we need to run "Grant view server state to Public" in the master database. Okay. This is the blind leading the blind here but I definitely do not think you need all 9s. It's all part of a package. DS got into TT from public with all 9s except 1 7 but he was a strong candidate: good grades, great recommendations, competed at regional level in a sport & probably was a good interview. If you're strong, I think 8s & 7s are okay. Even a 6 in one test if the others are good ...
