Oh yes! You can wash them in the machine and dry them in the dryer, I do it regularly. I'd use regular powdered soap, and you can add oxy-clean if you want. I would not use fabric softener of any kind - but especially liquid - it might coat the feathers and weigh them down. You can use the tennis balls if you want, or a tennis shoe, but I've done it without, and it works just fine.

Ice cream cones cost a nickel, and the comforting glow of nuclear weapons first began to warm our hearts. It was a time of innocence, where daddy knew best and a womans place was in the kitchen or she got the belt. And nobody, nobody, put Baby in ...
Slepax, I think Biffidum is on the right track... but starter motors are designed for short duration operation and might die more quickly that you'd like if run continuous. I have two of the Fischer Extreme fit racquets. . .the lighter version which is 11.something ounces strung (can weigh if you want) 10.5 unstrung. . . In my experience, this racquet doesnt give much power, but excellent ball control and direction of shot. Very spin friendly. . .and you can really swing out with it and still have most balls go in (with proper spin application, of course)...
