document.write(' '); Putting a new BB in a Ti frame. The manufacturer counseled me to use teflon tape on the threads. I've always just used grease -- which, coincidentally, the manufacturer put all over the new BB's threads. Wipe it off? Add more? Do tape and grease mix? Thanks, Steve

Charlie if I where you I would take it in to the dealer so they can pay for the teflon grease that it will require. The can of grease is like $25 a can. Good luck with this!!!

I just started using TW25B, its got micro particles of Teflon, its being used by the military, in their FAs and jet gatling guns in the F15s,Warthogs,etc.It recommends cleaning/lubing FA bores with it. Claims to increase bullet velocity, decrease 'flyers' on the target and provide metal corrosion protection. Havn't shot my pistols with it yet.Its gotten good reviews from other FA forums. thanks ...

If you want to minimize fouling, get Marshall's firelapping kit and follow his muzzle loading instructions. As to the threads, I would use a metal anti-seize compound . That's what Savage supplies with the 10ML. Won't get heat damaged. Won't melt fuse or bind. I use Loctite's nickel-based material because its good for stainless, but in terms of temperature range it is overkill. Their ...

Teflon tape - either the pink stuff sold by T/C as breech plug tape or just the solvent resistent tape you can get at a hardware store. One good wrap over the breech plug threads (and maybe a dap of light grease or bore butter on top of the taped threads) and you are good to go. Plug removal and thread cleaning is a snap when you take out the plug. For nipples, a standard nipple grease or ...
