Hi rare_heat...welcome to AC I see one of your arms has the Michell counterweight, the other does not. Did it benefit performance having it? I, too, run a Technics Sl-1200 with the Origin Live adaptor....now shorn with an Origin Live Illustrious Mk. III tonearm. Despite the $3000 arm and every upgrade from KAB (and replaced stock feet and platter mat) I can only get similar ...

First off, let me apologize for this post. I'm sure you guys get this all the time. I just got my first proper turntable, and I am in need of some help getting her all set up. Basically, I think all I need to know is (A) how to set up the tone arm, and (B) how to select a nice cartridge. The first thing I should probably mention is that this is a Technics 1200 M3D. My main source of ...

Hey I'm new to this forum but I've read the sticky thread helping out new DJs. What came quite apparent and was repeatedly mentioned was that if you're going to get a turntable get a Technic turntable and if possible the Technic SL-1200 (plus similar variations). What was suprising was the recommendation of used Technics as 'they are built like tanks' I believe someone said (I think it was 'Maz...

Okay, I have a couple Technics 1200 tables that have old cartridges on them. I love the tables though, and was wondering about those sleek Concordes that I see now and then. What kind of rep do they have? I know they are mostly geared towards DJs but can they be put to home use, too? Are any of the various styli actually bad for any vinyl? Anyway, tell me about your experiences with...

IF one was to purchase a technics sl-1200 .. which would be the one to get? Considering these things have been made since 1972 or so are any considered better than others? I"m leaning towards getting a 1210 mark II. Thanks
