I recently installed a pop-up LED in my Technics. After installation I noticed that I get sound through my speaker even if my player is turned off. The motor won't power up if I press the start/stop button while the power is off, but if I manually spin the record, the sound will play through my speakers as if the player was on. The switch seems to be working, and I disconnected the pop-up LED ...

Hello everyone. I've been lurking here for the past week and finally decided to sign up. You seem like a knowledgeable, friendly bunch and I'm looking forward to hanging out here. Ok, so here's the situation. Since 2005 I've been using a horrible AudioTechnica AT PL50. I know, I know. Well, just yesterday I came across what appears to be a solid deal on a Technics 1200 M3D in like new...

As to platter removal as others have stated it's a pretty tight fit. Try this, spray a little and I mean a little WD 40 on the spindle let it soak for say 15 minutes then as you pull up on the platter push down on the spindle section and it should pop off.

Selling my pair of Technics 1200s. Decks themselves are in pristine condition. One of the plastic dust covers is cracked in the back, but the turntables are perfect. I have them packed in the original boxes. I'll give you your choice of Shure White Label or M44-7 carts to go with the decks. The White Labels are hi-fidelity, look cooler, and are best for mix DJs who need top sound quality...

i've read the turntable faq and read the main differences. but it didn't really help me with my question. i'm deciding between the technics 1210 mk2 or 1200 m3d. the mk2 is brand new, never used (open box). but about $50 more than the m3d which is used, but in mint condition and comes with box, manuals, etc. which is better in your opinion?
