Here's what I'm working with... 1992 4.3L truck with a 5 speed and IIRC a 16144288 Will that harness be compatible with a 1991 1228747 5.7L w/ an SM465? I haven't found anything saying that the pinouts and everything are the same, but I thought they were. Not having to swap harnesses for this guy would make life a lot easier. *edit* I called dude and he said 16171661

I just checked the link and it worked. If not just go to autozone.com and select a 92 s10 4.3 TBI and go to the repair manual and chassis wiring. You can do that with any donor to compare the pin outs. The 8747 is the heavy duty ecm that is the same as the 7747 but no knock sensor if my memory serves me right. Keep in mind that if you pick a less used ECM then the support will be ...

Kewl, learned something new. IDK why they have 2 knock sensors, especially since they are tied together. Maybe being a larger block or with the metal counterweight might cause a werid patern off 1 sensor and with 2 some of the regular mechanical stuff the 2 signals will cancel out on some of the stray signals.

Not sure there are really any "step by step" instructions for the conversion. But like any other drivetrain swap it boils down to: Mount motor Mount transmission(or transfercase) cross member Plumb cooling/heater related items Plumb fuel line(s) and fuel pump Wire it up New drivelines I'm in the middle of a 6.0L Vortec in my FJ55. The mounting of it was "easy"... very similar ...

Here's my beef with all this! How is it; that Owen can be one way one day and totally different other days? I'm sure it's the effects of the surgery, but WOW! We sure did not expect this! It's been two & half super intensive months! Post surgery we are increased ADHD, on & off explosive behavior, striking short term memory issues, fatigue, OCD tendencies and absences looking "episodes"! ...

Wiring/Trans/Uh OH!  - 1 new post Read thread in new window
Started 1 week, 1 day ago (2008-11-10 08:38:00)  by Underconstruktion
So I have my 350 that I rebuilt and a 700r4 trans. The Truck was originally a 4.3 TBI with a 4L60E. Long story short the 60E is slipping and I was going to go carb with the truck so I could have made the 700r4 work. Now that I'm using my original wiring harness and computer what would I have to do in order to get the 700r4 to plug into the harness and also work with my computer?

I have searched high and low to try and find a nice 2 Door Blazer body that isn't rusting out for a doner for my 90 S10 4x4 TBI blazer with the 4.3 that mechanically runs outstanding (low miles motor, and rebuilt jasper tranny). It seems that the 4 doors aren't near as apt to rusting out like the 2 doors, unfortunately many of the 4 doors also had the problem child CPI. Anyways, I know you ...
