TBI 454s ran a higher fuel pressure (30 PSI IIRC), but the vortecs are running higher than that, so you would need the vortec pump. You may want to keep the A/C configuration in mind as the compressor is on the opposite side on the vortec. I don't know if this will cause any problems or not.
