Ok, a friend of mine is trying to remove symantec anti-virus from his PC but it wasn't in add/remove programs so he started in safe mode and deleted it. Now however when ever he right clicks a shortcut he gets a message saying "please wait while windows is configuring symantec anti-virus" thing is he is now using AVG free edition and he wants symantec GONE!!!! I've had this problem for awhile now. .my symantec anti-virus says it's out of date and when I go in and click live update it doesn't do anything. . . it has the hour glass but doesn't update it. . .it just says version 5/23/2008 rev.2. . .how do I update it. . .and I don't want to have to update a new antivirus program...

Ok here's the deal. I can get a free copy of Symantec Enpoint Protection from the Army via AKO and I can get a copy of Symantec AV crop. via my school. What is the difference between the two and which one does a better job, if they in fact have the same function. ~cheers

I had spybot but it was taking up way too much memory and Ad-aware wont let me install it for some reason and gives me the 1920 error or whatever it is even though I am the administrator. do I need an anti-ad software on my maching or is the other two sufficient?

I have norton symantec antivirus protection, when i scanned my computer, a window appeared saying "Norton AntiVirus has encountered an internal program error. (3038,107)". Does anybody knows how to fix this, i opened the website that says in that window to "how to fix it", but it doesn't work. Please let me know and please no confusing instructions, thank you so much.
