Not sold out, because I don't see it as that. But the quality of his films have declined incredibly from the days of Ed Wood, Donnie Brasco, etc. Pirates of the Caribbean I definitely agree with, because they were so successful while I thought they were just... weird and filled to the brim with juvenile comedy and PG rated action. Timothy Spall, Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham Carter were all in, "Sweeney Todd", and it was weird. Snape played a mean and evil Judge Turpin, Wormy was his oily assistant and Bellatrix was Mrs. Lovett. I read recently that Tim Burton's version of, "Alice In Wonderland", will feature Alan Rickman as the smoking caterpillar. Helena Bonham Carter is in it as well as Johnny Depp. I saw ... |

OK, let me start out by saying I have great respect for Tim Burton. I would say 90% of the time, he gets it right. However, Tim just didn't "get it" when he brought Sweeney Todd to the silver screen. No wonder when the mini-doc aired on TV before it was released, you only saw Stephen Sondheim say one sentence that clearly showed that he was trying to avoid saying approval or disapproval ... |
