I've just bought an e-30. For lens while I already have the 12-60 and 70-300. Before I had the E-520 (now as backup) Is it worth it to buy a 50-200 SWD. I do a lot of bird and macro photography. I have the impression that the pictures with the 70-300 but something could be sharper. Would the 50-200 SWD to meet this expectation (it is a class better and more expensive than the 70-300). For macro ...

... on Non-SWD lenses - 50-200mm and 14-54mm ? The pinch style cap is so much easier to use, especially with the hood attached. I'm just concerned about the risk of scratching the precious lens. I'd really appreciate your advice. Thank you very much in advance !

I know that the 510 doesn't support SWD, but how does the focus speed of the 50-200 SWD on the 510 compare to that of the kit 40-150? How about the focus speed SWD and 510 vs. SWD and E3? Thanks.

I know that this is a prominent tactic for priest when playing mages but it's just stupid. The idea that I'm casting sheep so they SWD me then they get sheeped and it breaks it. If they were sheeped they couldn't have cast SWD. It's a latency issue. Get creative and fix the problem. 12 second cooldown instant sheep breaker. Yes, you can fake sheep but we shouldn't have to do that just to juke a ...

Gents/ladies - rereading the RNS's from early October, my observations with regard the current state of play are these. 1. Hoffman & Boxberger have 16 wells - but one rns states 17 - they are missing a well somewhere - or double counted 1. 2. Boxberger #2 SWD - rework complete - is it online or waiting to go online? 3. Boxberger A #5 rework should have completed by now - 2 new zones swabbed - ...

Have you ever desired something you can have but reason says you shouldn't do it? That my delima at the moment. I REALLY WANT the Zuiko 14-35mm f2.0 SWD Top pro lens, for lots of reasons, that lens really tugs at my heart strings but at a cost £££££, however I've just found it online from a very reputable seller at a price thats probably going to be as cheap as I'll ever get it and ...

I know this comes up from time to time, and I know that olympus reps see this forum. Hopefully we can give them an idea of where demand is. My vote: 300 mm f4 (SWD would be fantastic) competitive price-wise with canon, nikon, pentax offering ($1200-1500). I'm flabbergasted by the lack of such a telephoto lens in a "telecentric" system. Olympus has the shortest corrected lens length of any of ...

G'day John, Many thanks to you too. Great to know the new lens cap works so well on the older lenses. I know what you mean about swapping lens caps - I did this with the 35mm macro and 50mm macro. As the 35mm...

Pure speculation but I'll guess the E-300 isn't programmed to work with SWD focusing and needs the update to do so. Checking the other SWD lens literature would probably tell the tale. Nice that Oly still does firmware for cameras from the age of dinosaurs :-) Rick Paul Auclair wrote: > > tangogal wrote: > > The 12-60 SWD lens comes with a warning that it should not be used on an E-300 ...

Have no experience with the 70-300 but do have the 50-200SWD and would agree with all the previous comments. It's very sharp (even wide open) but better stopped down a bit. The main factor for this lens is the weight - get a good tripod/monopod and use the collar. Been using it with an E3 and very happy with the results. Also as mentioned, a little short for birding.

Hmm, I was hoping to not have to use a recessed board of any kind because of the unique feature of the rise/fall of the Deardorff. If I get the lens I will post an update on its use. Thanks all for the great answers.
