I was swapping engines on my 72 Super in my driveway when a neighbor came over and introduced himself. He told me about all the other people in our neighborhood who are restoring cars, and told me about a Super Beetle parts car he had just acquired. Said he knew nothing about Bugs, had no idea what year it was, but it was going to the scrap metal yard, and would I be interested in it. Well, it's ...

The only way to convert is aftermarket parts. I think Dave Folts makes a conversion setup for the 091. I would assume this would work on other 002 bus tranny's since they make conversion kits to put the 091 diff in the 002. I think the Dave Folts kit uses U-Joints at the tranny. I definitely know they aren't cheap though. _________________ I Really Don't Care How They Do It In ...

Just picked up an '81 Caddy project. It runs and is relatively rust free. Thought I'd introduce myself as I'm sure to be asking questions in the coming weeks/months/years... It has been lowered but I plan to put it back at stock height...too bumpy for me. I'm hoping I can straighten the hood. If not a Rabbit hood fits...right? I think the PO put the rear ...

I have been having some trouble with my 73 super beetle lately and I think that the fuel filter may be clogged but I'm not sure. It started about two weeks ago after I bought gas at a different station than I normally do (but that could simply be a coincidence). When I went to drive to work the next day (which is right across the street) it was stalling and not acting right. When it was about ...

Help! I have a 71 Super Beetle convertible and it has two different doors. I am in the process of trying to restore it with original parts, but I am stumped when it comes to the doors. The drivers side door has the top button lock and the passenger's side door has the lock attached in the door handle. I would like to try to replace the wrong door, but I'm not sure which one that is. Does ...

My 73 super is within a month of becoming my daily driver. As I approach this day, I am thinking through some tools / parts that should stay in the beetle for those "just in case" times, should something happen. Can any veteran VW owners give advice on essential tools and spare parts that I may want to have with me as I make my daily commute? (in case it matters, I'm in Ohio where winters ...

Hi thanks for the info. What do you mean Torsion bar beetles. Didnt they all have torsion bars unles they are supers? Does that also mean that 76 and 77 beetles went back to the trim? I plan on using the trim in my rubber when i replace it regardless...i know its a pain but i like the look of it better now adays _________________ OG 1973 standard with factory OG PAINT Porsche phone dial...
