I love when ppl say they're "subject matter... I love when ppl say they're "subject matter experts" but the subject itself is unspecified. Um, so everything then? Not so much. 8:49 AM Jan 4th from TweetDeck

Many times a lot of rappers get shortchanged or criticized by hip hop heads because they apparently always rap about the same thing, or because they don't talk about real-life issues. But is this really valid? Take Rakim and KRS-One, for example. While the latter is well known because of his socially conscious subject matters in his rhymes, the former is very limited in what he raps about, ...

I'm curious to know how much a picture's subject matter affects people's opinion of it. My problem at the moment seems to be that any picture I produce generates more or less no response in people. And that means no criticism and feedback and such. No response from people who I show it to suggests something is very wrong with my artwork. My art is somewhat poor when it comes to a technical ...

Hey everyone, I just did this cover yesterday, out of the blue, just cause it was playing on my itunes and I felt like singing it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wx6yCt1RP6w It's a song by Bonnie McKee, she had one of her songs featured in the movie "Win a date with Ted Hamilton". I didn't warm up for this song and I know it shows, but I thought it sounded simple, like the song, so...

The title's relatively lighthearted manner aside... This is partially because I'm so worried and terrified I feel like I'm drowning in it, and partly because...I just need to get this all written out. So, I'm a fairly average person. Nothing all that bad with my life. I try to be a good person, and perhaps can be a bit annoying, but I like getting along with most people, and when I make ...

Last Wishes?(Sensitive Subject Matter) This thread is sort of a take-off on the one I started on about selling your dog. Many of you indicated that no amount of money would make you part with your dog. I can respect that. Unfortunately, we will one day have to part with this world, and the dogs we have. We are not promised today, let alone tomorrow. Next week I begin my fifth ...

SoggyNoodles Poor girl, 16 years of Hell. I hope things will get better sad I wish there was something that could be done, but it seems that barely anything can. You should talk to her half-brother, his mom, and her boyfriend, to talk about getting psychological help for her. It seems that after so long of being treated as such, she's somewhat put into a mindset where she really ...

Thanks for the replies. I must admit, I've never actually thought of it as communication or anything. My understanding has always been that you have a subject matter and you try and render the hell out of it as accurately as possible in your chosen medium. The only communication being that you try to convey all the technical detail. What has been said makes sense in that respect. A lot of ...
