While it is difficult for all skaters to take time away from skating, this is actually known as the 'off season' in exercise physiology terms. While it may seem opposite to common sense, this time away from skating can actually help to improve your skating career long term. It is really important to take this time to engage in other activities that will help you to maintain your training level...

Suzanne, what a wonderful story! This guy sounds like a real winner. I'm so happy for you both! Tuvak - Anthony's ETK workbook is based on Pavel's book, Enter the Kettlebell. Pavel is scary knowledgeable but is not much of a personal trainer type program putter-together. Anthony organizes the program and gives you a nice building progression from the program minimum (which is ...

I'm a personal trainer and this is generally how I start off a new client. Diet is key. If you don't get your diet right, you're wasting your time at the gym. I absolutely cannot overemphasize this. Here are the basics of controlling your diet. First, content. The food you consume should look like this, in order of amount eaten. Meat and vegetables, nuts and ...

OK so um.. wow! Who knew there was some record-breaking olympic lifter working at my rinky-dink gym?? He just got back from some world competition in Greece and broke some record for his age category (over 35) How cool is that? He was really nice when I talked to him, which was after my workout because he wasn't at the desk when I came in. Well, let me rewind a bit... So I'm going about my ...

Here is my offseason workout that I have designed...use at your own risk. I am an A.C.E certified personal trainer however, so it's kind of legit. It focuses on strength, mass, and generally being fit while gaining weight. It incorporates some isolation work and no olympic lifting or unconventional lifting... A couple notes: *thus it is not really an 'athletic' workout. If you are trying...

Sara!! GREAT JOB ON THE 30 MIN RUN!!! * * * * * * Oh my yes, stretch back, arms, shoulders, HIP FLEXORS...very important. The back may be due to the arm pumping while you run. I find that my mid-back on the right and left side get a bit "taxed" and ache when I neglect stretching them. I will look for a good link for you, if I try to explain what I do it will take me three pages...

http://kotaku.com/5085099/ea-officially-going-afte r-wii-fit-with-ea-sports-active Quote Remember when EA said they were looking at ways they could take a chunk out of Nintendo's Wii Fit market? Well, they found a way. Aimed primarily at the ladies, new title EA Sports Active will, like Peter Moore said a few weeks back, be targeted at a more Western style of fitness, as opposed to ...

Female athletes are especially prone to ACL tears due to the increased q-angle (the angle at which the femur meets the tibia) and a lack of proper strength training. While training cannot prevent all ACL injuries from occurring, it may work well to prevent non-contact ACL tears. In terms of collision-based ACL tears, there is little that can be done even in training to prevent an injury from ...

I was looking at some supplements and I invested in some Fish Oil and some ****bolism pills. I was thinking about taking hydroxycut to lose this weight as fast as i can. I'd ...
