Saw this gem today, and thought you all might be interested: http://www.stovebolt.com/features/roadkill/brokenh eart.htm .... This intake is in really good shape for its age. It is an Edmunds 2 x 2 barrel intake for the 216/235/261 Chevy inline 6s. It was made for the 216, but you can buy/make adaptors to put it on the 235/261. As you can see it is designed for the 3 bolt type carbs such as Stromberg 97 or Ford 94. If you are building a traditional rod with a stovebolt, this intake will be exactly what you want...

I'm not sure it is really a 235 since the sheet metal coverplate on the sparkplug side extends to the top of the head, which I thought was only done on the 216s. My reason for wanting to pin down the engine type is that I need to replace the failed electric fuel pump with a ...

Looks like you're off to a good start so far. Have you thought about sectioning the body instead of (or maybe in addition to) chopping the top? A scale 3"-4" section really makes a difference in the look of these cars. Your color scheme sounds excellent and your decision to keep the Stovebolt was definitely the right one. Keep us posted!
