We have a strong firewall at school and I am connected through wifi. On my laptop I can ssh into the computer ,through Terminal, at home and tunnel through that way. Ive tried to do the same commands in mobileTerminal, and it says Bind: address already in use. The command I issue is "ssh -D 80 user@sshserver.com ". Any ideas how I can tunnel through ssh on the iPod? Thanks

my ssh server in running in debian and i can access it with my dads computer. however, i dont want him to login as my name, i dont want him to be able to goto all my directories etc etc. how can i config the sshd_config so that when he ssh's to my server he doesnt login as my user but rather i could give him a unique name and all the permissions. thanks

Hey guys Having a bit of trouble when ssh'ing into a server I didn't set up, ive not been that confident with SSH (yes its powerful, but also unforgiving). I think the only way im going to be able to CHOWN the folders i need is through the root login. When I do this however it logs in fine, but then i type LS and it comes back about creating 3 certificate files. Can ...

Hi, everybody! I typically use Usenet via an SSH link to my ISP. Non-ascii characters don't make it through to the other end, which is particularly sad when I want to write in German. I've looked for stuff to configure in the FM, but nothing I've tried has worked yet. I've tried: ssh -2 -l -e none , to try and get a "transparent session" in SSH version 2. No joy. ...

Here's some info of what I'm using: Jailbroken iPod Touch 3G (tethered, 3.1.1, used blackra1n). Using iTunes 9. OS X 10.5.8. I'm trying to connect to one of my Macs with SSH from a remote computer on the internet. Every time I do, I get a "connection refused" error. It's not a firewall issue. Remote login is enabled. I can ping the computer and I have the correct IP address. I can SSH into it fine over LAN. Can anybody help?

kalo kasus gw, bukan di 3GS tapi di 2G gw.. beberapa hari kmaren, sampe skarang, mulai ga bisa ssh nih.. muncul: server unexpectly closed network connection biasanya gw install ulang openssh berhasil, terus ga lama gitu lagi... napa ya??
