Rock Island Arsenal was a government producer of the
1903 Springfield 30-06 from 1903 through the 1920's I think. They did produce for WW1 for sure. MANY of them used milder steel (is the forward receiver bridge scalloped or rounded?) and are NOT safe to shoot.
